Wanderlust

Travelling has been my passion for as along as I’m on this beautiful planet we call earth. I consider myself privileged as my parents took me on my first vacation when I couldn’t even walk properly.

Growing up, while all the other kids went on vacation in summer, we had to help our parents, both farmers, on the fields. They told us that each of us has to earn the money for our up coming vacation. We didn’t really mind because the destination never failed to impress. I loved the fact that we fled the cold for a few weeks each winter, when the earth was frozen and no vegetable would grow. We mostly were drawn to exotic places such as the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Thailand and such.

Now that I’m grown up – at least you could think so from the look at my birth date – I would go on a big vacation (one month) once a year and keep myself busy with short trips to closer places (aka Europe) in between.  I’m not rich nor am I sponsored. I’m saving my earnings and I’m mostly travelling on a budget. I love to stay with airbnb or in hostels.

When I’m travelling I try to get to know as much as possible about the country I’m staying in. I love trying new food, talking to locals and just getting into the lifestyle in general. It’s fascinating how different people all over the world seem but in the end we are all the same. It’s not the country we are from that says who and how we are, it’s each person for themselves, deciding every day who and how we want to be.

 

I already planned out 2016 (Lisbon, Copenhagen & New York) and most of 2017 (Brazil and Capetown)but if you wanna tell me your favorite places to vacation, please go for it. I'd love to hear about them.

Youtube Favorites - German Speaking

I know that's a rather weird categorie since I devided the other youtubers in countries....whatevs xD

you guys might know that I'm from switzerland and therefore I speak swiss-german. I would also text my friends in swiss-german which is super cool cause we don't have no grammer rules xD so basically you would spell the words however you like and the receiver still knows what your talking about - awesome, isn't it?! at the office, though, we write letter and all the other docs in german. It's like we have a secret language and not even the US gouvernment could spy on us (e.g. our phone calls) cause they wouldn't understand a word, ha! no offense my dear american people, I love you anyway!;)

What was I going to say in this post anyway? oh, sure, german speaking youtubers!

Even though I love the english language, I also enjoy listening to german speaker! Especially when they have an accent like I do (shout out to my austrian friends)! it's so adorable! (I don't find it adorable when I talk with an accent since I sound like a boor xD)

maddie's my all time favorite. I've been reading her blog ever since she launch it in 2010 and now that she's on youtube I like her even more. most of all cause she's so smart and witty! she talks about very serious topics but isn't afraid to upload videos like this. beside her talent as a writer and amazing photographer she also loves pets and added a new member to her family by adopting #malathedog. Cuteness overload!

Nisi and Desi are twin sisters and I absolutely love their youtube channel! the quality of their videos is uh-mazing! wether you do understand german or not, go check out their channel now! they are pure eye candy, I promise! and if you do understand then you're going to see that they are way more than good looking! both of them are well educated and the content of the videos is substantial! amazingness is coming your way....

if you're looking for hair inspiration you definitely need to check out anna's "frisuren freitag" videos. she's super good with hairstyle and I don't know where I would get the ideas from if it weren't for her.

leonie and lena are adorble! it kinda feels like they're my little sisters, even though I'm not even sure I'm older.. i loved the vlogs when lena was in paris and leo in sevilla. and even if they stayed in different countries I still felt that they were connected and not at all separated hundreds of kilometers.

YouTube Favorites - American Babes

there are some many of them but listed below are my favorite american youtubers. I know there are lots of beauty related channels so far but that's just what I like and what I watch most. jenn's edgy / boho style is pure inspiration and so refreshing! I could listen to her all day long since I simply love the way she talks. if I would have to describe california the first thing that came to my mind would be "jenn". for me, jen equals california. She also is very funny and real, so don't miss out on this and check out her channel!

claire marshall
she definitely knows her stuff! I love her make-up tutorials and her cat bruce ;) claire puts a lot of work into the editing as you can so on the quality of her lookbooks. amaaaaazing!

she's lively and cute. lana's videos make me feel like I am sitting in her bedroom and just have a nice girls talk with her. she has some other channels too but since I don't speak any spanish - what a shame, gotta put that on my to do list - it's hard to follow along.

rachel nguyen
I find that rachel is out of the box - in a good way! rachel's not at all like anyone else and that's why I can't wait for the next uploaded vid. such a unique person!

heart is super lovely and girly. she doesn't mind filming in her onesie or capture even the bad days which really, we all have now and then, don't we?! her bf arnold is a sweetheart and I'm sure we all agree on this as you watch her vlogs.

ingrid, better known as missglamorazzi, lives in california (as well as all the other youtubers mentioned in this post so far - pure coincidence, I swear). her apartment is soooo cool, I would move in right away!

Go florida!!! haha she's the loner in my little list but not at all less awesome or anything like that! gosh, this girl can talk a lot in a little time ;) and that's what I love about nicole. she totally reminds me of a friends of mine! I honestly have to say that I personally wouldn't wear my make-up like she does but that's only because I'm not badass enough...

Youtube Favorites - British Folks

As I mentioned in this post I turned into a huge youtube addict! No day goes by without me watching vlogs, hauls, tags or anything like that. that's why I thought I'd kick this week of with my youtube favorites. Since there are lots of them I'm splitting them into different categories.

let's start with our dear british folks:
 

fleurdeforce
fleur is such a lovely girl and her three doggies are sooo adorable! she and her husband mike live in a super nice house with a huge garden, which I find great for the dogs. Fleur's very down to earth, warm-hearted, honest and funny.
I'm very much into her vlogs! She did vlogtober (somewhat of a FMA (follow me around)and vlogmas and I watched all the videos!! oh and don't forget to check out her wedding video it's the best I have ever seen! no kidding!
She and mike (her hubby) also have a cooking channel which I find very cool since I'm instantly in love with people who love food as much as I do. So what not to love about her?!

viviannadoesmakeup
anna is a what I call a beauty guru. she's way ahead of everyone else on the beauty stuff and she's to blame for my newly discovered beauty/cosmetic product obsession. shame on you anna! ;) I also enjoy reading her blog. She's friends with Lily Pebbles who you might already know since she's a youtuber too. I love that they team up sometimes and make videos together!

zoella
zoe is a petite person with lots of super soft and silky hair (at least that what they look like) and is super goofy. I always have a good laugh while watching her videos. she just launch her own beauty line which is incredible giving she's only 24 years old.

master of makeup! lisa seems a bit cold and distant at first but I feel like the more I watch her tutorials the more I like her. she's so professional and hell of a talent (excuse my language). she makes things seems so easy and effortless I can't get enough! oh, and if you like alexa chung - and who wouldn't like her! - you definitely should watch this.

I also love love love funforlouis! Travel vlogs are next to beauty the best!
