Roadtrip 2015 // Yosemite National Park

April 16, 2015
We booked the Yosemite National Park tour the night before and had to get up at 5.15am that day. A little bit sleepy but excited we got on the tour bus where Nick our guide greeted us with an even sleepier face. We were pretty frustrated when we found out that we spent 1 hour in the bus picking up all the other people and the last couple actually stay at a hotel which was only a few minutes away from our hostel. We could have selected that pick up location as well and sleep about an hour longer! C’est la vie…I guess.

We arrived at Yosemite at around 11am and meanwhile Nick was wide awake telling us all about the park. We got to see some pretty cool things e.g. the giant sequoia trees which can get more than 3’000 years old and El Capitan, the largest exposed granite monolith in the world.

On the way back we made a little stop to enjoy view of the skyline and the sun setting behind it. What a great way to end that amazing day.

Roadtrip 2015 // San Francisco

Apart from our first and our final destination we didn’t book any accommodations before hand. We didn’t want to be stuck somewhere only because we booked two nights instead of one. Our first accommodation was the SF Hostel where we decided to get a private room instead of a dorm. The room was very comfy and cute but I wish we had seen that there is another HI Hostel Downtown in a much nicer location. Anyway, we really enjoyed San Francisco as there was not one cloud to be seen the whole 4 days we stayed there which is pretty uncommon for foggy San Fran.

On our first day we mostly just shopped for essentials such as shampoo and tooth paste. Later on we went for a walk through Chinatown.

The second day was packed with sightseeing. We checked off the Cable Cars, Lombard Street and the Golden Gate Bridge of our list. Due to the beautiful weather we decided to walk from Downtown to Lombard Street. The view was stunning - I mean, just look at the pictures! In the afternoon we rented a bike at Fisherman’s Wharf and rode all the way to and over the Golden Gate Bridge. It got pretty warm and we were thankful for the light breeze. By the way, how do you like my sunglasses? Pretty sassy, huh?! J I didn’t bring any and when I came across these ones I just had to get them!

Roadtrip 2015 // The Beginning

How are you all doing? I just got back from our roadtrip through (mostly) California with my brother. I can't tell you how awesome that trip was!! Breath-taking views, lots of fun and sunshine (and some snow too, but I'll tell you about that in a little while). I can't wait to share all the photos I took - and trust me, there's a lot of them ;) If you like to get a sneak peak already then head right to my instagram (@nissybunique). no regrets, I promise :)
So our trip didn't really start well as we missed our flight on April 13, 2015! It's a long story and explaining why and what happened would take way too much space up in this post, so let's just focus on the good things, shall we?

So this is the suitcase I brought with me. This huge samsonite is next my hand luggage i put in there totally empty! I only packed 1 pair of shorts, one pair of pants, two tank tops, two t-shirts, one cardigan, my pjs, lots of underwear, a bikini and my birkenstocks. that's it! I didn't take much of toiletries because you can buy those in San Francisco as well..
